In 2018, our atelier developed the project to adapt the old Estalagem do Guadiana to the 3 * Hotel. The project had a greater impact on the interior of the building, having been reformulated the spaces in order to create a more contemporary ambience. Subsequently, the studio developed a project to expand the Hotel D’Alcoutim. The expansion project of the Hotel D'Alcoutim, provides the construction of a new body with 31 new accommodation units (30 double rooms and 1 suite), with large balconies. This new body is connected to the existing building through a neutral element. The design of the new building, was designed in order to integrate it into the landscape, and protecting views systems as well as to optimize sun exposure for the thermal comfort of the building and energy efficiency. In order to reduce the impact of the building, the facades floors (east and west), are in back plans. The exterior coverings of the building favored wood and glass.
With this expansion, the Hotel will offer 63 accommodation units, bar, breakfast /dining room, living areas, meeting room, sanitary facilities, and support areas, two outdoor pools and green leisure areas.
Submitted for licensing at the Alcoutim City Council.
